Rewrite to Reunite: auditing a curriculum for peace

120+ textbooks, 10,000+ pages, four provinces: what an audit found between the lines.

Education can divide or it can heal. Across both public and religious streams, Pakistan’s curriculum had in places reinforced the very divides it should have bridged.

Through our “Rewrite to Reunite” initiative, Chromatic conducted a data-driven audit of more than 120 textbooks and 10,000-plus pages across four provinces and every education stream, surfacing hidden bias and turning unspoken exclusions into actionable findings.

We took that evidence on the road with an Impact Tour across five cities and four provinces, convening 80-plus curriculum boards, policymakers, and educators, and culminating in a National Launch and Policy Dialogue in Islamabad.

Research only matters when it moves people; this was research built to move a nation’s classrooms.
